Head of Barging

• Having work experience with reputed coal mining company / barging company as head of logistics.
• Charter the barges as per the business requirement at the best price.
• Handle the barging operation from the Port to Vessel
• Having good relation with Port authorities at Samarinda and Jakarta
• Understanding of Indonesian Shipping Law
• Having full and sole command of the vessel to which they are appointed. As such the priority shall always be the safety of life and property and protection of the marine environment.
• Having overriding authority and responsibility to take whatever action is considered to be in the best interests of life, property and protection of the marine environment.
• Shall ensure that vessel personnel are fully conversant with Company requirements and documents to the extent necessary for the safe and efficient execution of their duties and responsibilities.
• Having full authority to implement the requirements of the company management system.
• Reviewing, on a quarterly basis, the company's management system. Should it become apparent that it is not effective in meeting the company's policy objectives, report the fact using the improvement system.
• Must ensure that the vessel is in full compliance with all applicable requirements of the vessel's flag state and classification society rules.
• Shall ensure that all applicable requirements of the Port state and local fire brigade are fully implemented, where applicable.
• Prior to any towage activity the Barge Head must ensure that the vessel is in all respects seaworthy and-that all pre-departure activities have been satisfactorily completed.
• Ensure that they are familiar with the commercial arrangements, in particular the terms of the hire agreement applicable
• Ensure the safe custody of the vessel's official documentation ensuring it all remains in date.
• Having authority to incur expenditure in line with section 5 of this COM.
• Conducting an investigation following an accident, incident or a high potential near miss.
• Carry out occupational health and safety inspections of all accessible parts of the vessel.
• Receive and investigate any reasonable complaint from any member of the crew concerning occupational health and safety matters.
• The duty to stop any work that may reasonably have an adverse effect on safety, damage the marine environment or affect the commercial operation of the vessel
